The Mathematics of Personal Finance

This workshop will guide high school math, economics, and personal finance teachers through hands-on activities to help make better connections between personal finance ideas like insurance and interest rates and the current standards for teaching Algebra 2. These activities could be used in a math classroom to better introduce personal finance standards, or in an economics class as a way of connecting the personal finance standards to the mathematics that your students have already learned or are currently learning. The hands-on activities will be presented in formats that could be used for either in-person or remote instruction. Lunch will be provided via Grubhub!
